Engage in weekly Friday Zoom meetings hosted by MNT-EC (Micro Nano Technology Education Center)

Complete challenges in the MNTFolio online ePortfolio

Complete three core modules using TAP3D virtual reality simulations

Earn up to $3,000 in stipends based on completion requirements

Receive application support for summer internships in tech fields

Earn an extra $500 stipend by completing 3 additional TAP3D modules

Important 2024 & 2025 Dates:

  • Yes. AT³ is a virtual training program. Participants engage in weekly Friday Zoom meetings hosted by MNT-EC, gain additional insights from industry partner guest hosts, complete online challenges in the MNTFolio ePortfolio, and participate in training modules using TAP3D virtual reality simulations. 

  • Students enrolled in a technical education program or taking a technical education course in the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.

  • Yes, depending on how close you are to graduation. Program participants must be enrolled in technical education courses in both the Fall and Spring semesters of the 2024/2025 academic year.

  • Yes. This program is funded by the U.S. government and requires program participants to be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents.

  • There are no full or part time requirements.

  • Access to a faculty mentor is preferred to ensure student participants receive adequate support and guidance. However, identifying a faculty mentor at the time of application is not required.

  • Friday, October 18, 2024, via Zoom (Friday, May 9, 2025, is the last formal day).

  • Students who receive an offer letter will have until October 16, 2024, to confirm their participation.

  • Yes, as long as it does not interfere with your program participation.

  • Twice a year - once in the fall and once in the spring.

    • Must be in good standing with the program showing regular attendance at Friday virtual meetings, completing training and other assignments (see additional details below).

    • Need to have a U.S. Social Security Number or Tax ID number to be paid.

    • Students who have attended four Zoom sessions (or completed four MNTFolio Challenges) and completed the pre-survey for the program and the TAP 3D pre-assessment will be provided a $1,500 stipend in December, 2024.

    • A second $1,500 stipend will be provided after students complete the program, attending 80% of on-line meetings or MNTFolio challenges, and complete the program and TAP 3D post-assessments.

    • Students will have the opportunity to earn an additional $500 stipend for completing three (3) additional optional modules (for a total of 6).

    • Complete program surveys on the effectiveness of the AT3 initiatives and VR simulation activities.

    • Created by TAP (Training All People), TAP3D accelerates next generation technician training through immersive virtual reality simulations. 

    • Developed in partnership with leading advanced manufacturers, TAP3D mimics procedures and equipment you’ll find on the job as a technician in the semiconductor industry.

  • The TAP3D virtual reality simulations can run on either a VR headset or a desktop/laptop.

    • Students must have a valid email address to create their TAP account.

    • Students need to have internet access.

    • Students must have access to a computer that can run an internet browser.

    • Student's computer should have ASWD keys, or arrow keys, and a touchpad or mouse.
